Trust’s Story
Guru Nanak Education Trust is a registered charitable trust founded in 1969, under the aegis of Justice Gurnam Singh, the then Chief Minister of Punjab, along with other dedicated trustees, with the noble objective of serving society through education and humanitarian services.
The Trust was established on the auspicious occasion of the 500th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, inspired by his timeless teachings of selfless service, equality, and compassion for humanity. Since its inception, the Trust has remained committed to empowering individuals through knowledge, healthcare, and community development.
Over the decades, Guru Nanak Education Trust has grown into a multifaceted institution, contributing significantly to the fields of education and healthcare. The Trust runs reputed educational institutions, including Guru Nanak Girls College, and also functions as a recognized study centre for Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), providing accessible higher education opportunities to students from diverse backgrounds.
In the field of healthcare, the Trust operates Guru Nanak Charitable Hospital, delivering affordable and ethical medical services with a patient-centric approach.
